Rider Agreement

Expedition Terms & Conditions

Contractual conditions governing all guided motorcycle expeditions and rentals across India and Nepal.

1. Bookings & Payments

A reservation is confirmed once the initial booking deposit (typically 20% of tour value) is received and the rider’s driving documentation is validated. The remaining balance must be settled prior to the departure deadline (typically 30 days prior to Day 1).

2. Mandatory Medical & Evacuation Insurance

Every participant MUST hold an active international medical policy explicitly covering: (a) riding motorcycles over 400cc; (b) high-altitude travel above 4,500m; and (c) emergency helicopter search & rescue evacuation. Recommended providers include Global Rescue, World Nomads, or IATI. Failure to present valid proof of insurance prior to departure prohibits participation without refund.

3. Motorcycle Security Deposit

Upon motorcycle handover on Day 1, the rider must place a refundable security deposit (USD $750 to USD $1,000 depending on model). This deposit is refunded in full at the conclusion of the expedition following technical vehicle inspection, less any damage caused by negligence or crashes.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • More than 60 days before departure: 80% refund of deposit paid (or 100% transfer credit toward another departure within 12 months).
  • Between 59 and 30 days before departure: 50% refund of paid amounts, owing to non-refundable military permits and hotel room allocations.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: Non-refundable. We strongly urge riders to purchase comprehensive trip cancellation insurance.

5. Licenses & Visas

Riders are responsible for obtaining their tourist e-Visa in advance and carrying both their national motorcycle driving license and an International Driving Permit (IDP). Real India Expeditions provides official visa support and invitation documentation.

6. Force Majeure & Safety

In the event of landslides, military pass closures, river swells, or severe weather, the lead guide has ultimate authority to reroute the itinerary to protect group safety. Modifications prompted by safety or acts of nature do not entitle participants to financial compensation.
